Condolences

Condolence From: Judy Dickson
Condolence: I have so many great memories of Betty that it is hard to chose.
I remember the summer that I decided to start a bicycle group for exercise. Betty showed up the first day with an older bike having already ridden from her place to mine and throughout the ride was in better shape that most of us and certainly better than me.

I also remember Betty for the "Rosedale" spirit of caring for each other. She helped anyone who needed help even if we did not ask for help but especially those in special need like Betty Tompson and Jane Sawulak. A fixture at Fenelon Court and an ever willing bridge partner whenever we asked.

Condolence From: Ken and Arlene
Condolence: An elegant lady, quietly gracious, talented and generous. A supporter of many local activities. A wonderful conversationalist, delightful company and friend to all. Betty will be missed by us and the community in general. We have all lost a good friend and the world is smaller for her leaving. If ever trumpets sound, they will be for her.
Ken and Arlene.

Condolence From: Gail & Grant Cottrell
Condolence: We remember Betty as a wonderful neighbour and a good friend. She took care of others but chose to deal with her personal challenges privately with never a complaint.
We will miss our evening walks and pleasant visits ( along with her chocolate chip cookies and date squares ).
Last winter she wove a lovely set of placemats for us. They will always remind us of a very special lady.
Although we are far away we will be with Betty's family and friends in spirit as they honour her on Saturday.
May she rest in peace and may we try to live life following the example she set - always participating, reaching out to others, never judging, never complaining and living life with dignity and kindness.

Condolence: Mrs. Wilkinson was a wonderful mother, and especially patient. A woman who I always looked up to. As a child, whenever I was welcomed into her home at Rosedale, she always made me feel so at home. As an artist, I admired her work and remember watching her as she cut wild flowers and put them into a burlap bag for use of dying her wonderful natural wool cloth. She left her imprint in many stores, art made from all natural materials. Beautiful lamps, woven cloth. She was forward thinking, an environmentalist before her time, in utilizing natural products, her clay cups, natural soaps. I was fascinated by her. Betty did try to teach me to weave. Unsuccessfully I might add. "Oh, well" she said, "you can't expect to do anything perfect without a lot of practice. Just enjoy this beautiful fall day." And enjoy those visits I did. She will be missed, and my condolences go to her family and friends from myself and my mother Louise. With her passing closes yet another snapshot of history, she was a beautiful woman who showed courage and dignity in all aspects of her life. I was lucky to have known her.

Condolence From: Jenny and Jeff Scott
Condolence: Our condolences to Barbara, Scott, Bruce, David, Mari-Ann, Ginette and Families. We are saddened to hear of Betty's passing. She was a wonderful friend and neighbour. We spent many hours together over the years, often walking and chatting our way around Rosedale. I've always admired Betty's joie de vivre and endlessly positive attitude. I will miss our many chats and outings,as well as the annual Christmas Eve visit we shared. Her support, over the years, has meant a lot to us. You always knew she was there, if you needed her. She was a true friend...
Betty, you will be so missed, by so many. You touched so many lives.
Rest in Peace....you were truly a remarkable woman. I am honoured to have know you.
'Fondly' Jeff and Jenny Scott
